The IR and VCD spectra of acetylmelodorinol were measured using a CDCl3 solution of concentration 0.03M in cells of pathlengths 597 μl and 240 μl. Since the racemate of 1 was not available, the baselines for the IR and VCD spectra were the spectra of CDCl3 in the 597 μl and 240 μl pathlength cells.
